Training with Les Mills requires endorsement with your local Les Mills agent (often a Les Mills branded gym) and will involve the same training you will receive overseas as well. Training with Les Mills Agents overseas is also recognised and any evidence such as module training and certification should be brought with you.

Because of the small population size, number of gyms and physical geography of New Zealand, training is often mixed. Six of the seven currently available programs may train on module together, presenting tracks to each other. This has an added benefit as trainee instructors are not trying to teach tracks to "perfect participants"... people who already know the track inside and out. The 5 key elements and Circle of Awesome instruction is also common to all programs within Les Mills.

Gaining employment with a gym is entirely up to the gym itself, and recruitment processes vary according to demand at the time. Sometimes you will just strike it lucky. Don't be dis-heartened if you don't get through first time around. Stick at it, and show them that you are keen. Remember also that the number of gyms are small, and the number of people there are not that many. A new person will stand out, especially if you know your stuff.
Keeping this in mind, the gyms in New Zealand are pretty large, and the number of classes on a timetable are significant.

Purchasing DVD packs is only available to endorsed instructors who are presently employed by a Les Mills licensee. Purchases are made by using a login at a distribution website. DVD packs are not distributed at Workshops. Clothing is available at any time of the year through the Les Mills clothing website, and is available to instructors at a discounted price.

Workshops are held at the four major Les Mills centres. Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin host these workshops and they are typically on a Saturday or Sunday. There is no set order as to who has the workshop first, although Auckland City club does trial all the new material prior to a Workshop. Instructors at the local Les Mills clubs also may recieve advanced copies of workshop material IF they are part of the national presentation team for a particular program.
