At Les Mills Asia Pacific, we want to keep you informed on the Phonographic Performance Company of Australia (PPCA) claim against the Australian fitness industry. The decision was handed down yesterday.
Previously, Clubs paid a fee to the PPCA of 96.8 cents per group fitness class with a capped annual maximum of $2,654 - yesterday the Copyright Tribunal increased this to either $15 per class or to $1 per participant representing an extraordinary increase in fees for Clubs to pay for original music.

Now that closing submissions for the PPCA case have finally been heard at the Copyright Tribunal, we thought it timely to give you an update on the case and our assessment of the likely outcome. Members of the fitness industry have been subjected to a large amount of misinformed rumour about the likely outcome and its implications for the fitness industry.
We hope you will find this new website layout easier to access, since we had a lot of feedback on the old site that the tracklists were too difficult to navigate.
This time around our tracklists have been updated well in advance and for those that were missing our tracklists for the past 2 releases can now rest assured that they will hopefully not be published so late in the future.
The latest tracklists for the Quarter 3 releases were updated a few weeks ago, however they have just been updated again to include the video sizzler aswell. So now you can hear about the upcoming new releases!
Please keep supporting this cause by including a link to Operation M.U.S.I.C. and you can also donate money by using the form on their website.
the bid on cool stuff auction
proceeds towards fighting unfair copyright fees
Currently there is a huge threat to the existance of group exercise in Australia as PPCA makes a move to increase music tariffs (the royalty fee that is paid for the privilege of using music in group fitness classes). Therefore Operation M.U.S.I.C. has been an initiative created by Fitness Australia to fight this proposed increase, but is relying on funding and donations for the cause.
GENERAL STATEMENT FROM LES MILLS
We have recently become aware of a number of posts on our and other online forums regarding the sale of Les Mills’ instructor resources on eBay and other similar online auction sites.
For those who are on Facebook, I have opened a new group called "Group Fitness" as support for this website.
Since so many people use Facebook, I thought it would be a great way of keeping you all updated with what's happening on this site and on groupfitness.org
